Customer Reviews
I am 6'5" and really needed some help as a full time stay at home dad when my son wanted to walk and cried because he couldn't do it by himself yet.
I tried the Juppy first after reading reviews online for the Walking Wings and then the Juppy. The logical option sounded like the Juppy since I was concerned that the Walking Wings would not hold the baby up as well. It sounded like the Juppy would hold the baby up by the crotch and support the whole baby better than by just holding him under the arms like the Walking Wings.
Well, the problem I found was that the low center of gravity of that lift point often led to my little boy falling forward or backward. It works ok if you don't have to lift, but as he stumbles and is falling over, you try to hold him up with the straps, the pivot point is too low, and splat. If I was very careful to hold the straps and he walked slowly, it worked ok, so I gave it two stars.
Really not satisfied with the results of the Juppy, I also got the Walking Wings to try them out. I worried that it would be a waste of money since I wasn't happy with the Juppy, but I did not find a problem with the Walking Wings at all. They held my son up in just the right place so that he felt balanced and when he did begin to fall over, the support from the straps didn't exacerbate the fall, instead they kept him from falling. There was no slippage and he did not seem to mind the lifting under his arms at all, maybe because I lift him up from under his arms all day long when I pick him up.
Best of luck to all new parents! :)
I was really pleased with the Juppy. I was having back problems at the time the baby was learning to walk. They Juppy helped tremendously in helping her learn and keeping me from having to bend over. I liked that it was so small that you could take it anywhere. It's well made and will last well after the baby learns to walk.
